Back to School

So today I start my first full week of Sophomore year at Oxford College of Emory University.

This is so exciting! I am going through a bit of distress right now... I do not know what I want to major in and I have to declare in the spring, plus I'll need to know by November what to take in the spring! It's all very nerve-wrecking. I like way too many things. So, before I was planning on majoring in Math/Political Science, but now I'm considering Biology and then if I pick Biology I have to decide whether to get a B.S. or a B.A.... oh, dear.

Also, I have decided that by the end of this year I will know if I want to continue as Pre-Med or go to Graduate School when I graduate from Emory. I have to make a decision soon, but at least not tomorrow.

Other than this inner struggle, school has started off well. I'm working in the Office of Enrollment Services as an SAA (Student Admission Association) Coordinator, which is very exciting! We're going to start training people soon! Tonight, we're having a little get together for all the returning SAA members.

I've realized that I use exclamation points all too often in Blogs and e-mails... and the word "exciting." Hmmm....

OH! I just bought my first pet: a Crowntail Betta! His name is Caesar after Julius Caesar, not the salad. He's very pretty. I think I'm feeding him too much... I guess that just comes from being Italian. I ws so happy when we went to buy him. I never had a pet because my parents liked to travel a lot and my mother said that she was allergic to cats (she actually wasn't... I ended up finding out that tidbit when I turned 16). So, I decided that I was going to get a pet fish this year. When we went to PetSmart, I even told them that it was going to be my first pet, and they said that a Betta is really easy to take care of. Plus, my roommate has had pets, so she's helping me.

Lots of work to do.

Peace and love,
Lizzy
